Information regarding refuse collection and recycling scheme in Great Milton

Information regarding refuse collection and recycling can be found via the link below:

We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to reducing waste in Great Milton and surrounding villages. We are affiliated with and supported by CAG Oxfordshire as well as Great Milton Parish Council and the Sheppard Trust.

We hold four Freecycle Live events a year in the Pavilion, Great Milton Recreation Ground. At these events you can bring items that you no longer need or want and get items that you DO need or want for FREE! The whole purpose is to reduce landfill waste.

Most items will find a new home at the Live events. Clothes, shoes and bags, books, DVDs, small electrical goods (we PAT test all electrical items), toys and baby goods, crockery, games, jewellery, small items of furniture ….. the list is endless …BUT they must be in working order. There are a few items that we cannot unfortunately accept:

  • Liquids e.g. household paints, household cleaning fluids, personal care items, alcohol
  • Building or DIY materials
  • Large items of furniture
  • Knives
  • Anything broken or damaged

We ask that items are brought to Freecycle Live events between 9.15 am and 10.00 am only. With the main doors opening at 10.00 am to take stuff away. We weigh out all the items taken away including those we freecycle and recycle after the event. In this way we record how much waste we prevent from going to landfill. Look out for the scales on the exit!!

Our live events are advertised here as well as on Facebook. Our Facebook group also offers a place for our members to freecycle outside of the Live events. Items we cannot accept at Freecycle Live can also be advertised here. We always aim to help as well as to try to provide information on other free ways of reducing waste.

For more information, you can find us on Facebook @greatmiltonfreecycle or on Mycelium Map; a website that connects people in their local communities to take action on climate change. We can also be contacted at greatmiltonfreecycle@gmail.com

Great Milton Freecycle would not be possible without the affiliate organisations and financial support received as well as the volunteers who make the Live events happen. Thank you.
